So another week of ‘I can’t believe how busy I am’…
between work, my birthday, and friends, this has been a busy but wonderful week!
Tuesday was my birthday, and I celebrated by making strawberry jam… 2 batches…. 1 small, 1 large. I burned one. (just a little)… guess which one?
If you guessed the BIG one, you are WRONG! (it was my birthday, I was due a bit of Good Luck after all)
It came out beautifully… and Tuesday night a big group of us went to the Sportsman’s… including Little K, Miss K. and Mr. K (hee-hee), ‘The-Pot-Stirring Fireman” and his wife and daughter (little K), who is about the same age….
After dinner… some of us petered out and went to bed and SOME of us went into the EYC to shoot the shit for a bit.. including Little J and Little K. We had a BLAST laughing and being entertained by one over-served patron…
Ed and the Pot-stirring-fireman took him home… then he came back. It was quite the cap on my birthday.
But during the night, ‘The-Pot-Stirring Fireman” made the comment that “I never write anything nice about him’…. in no particular order:
1. He is a good dad. He treats Little K with a lot of respect, and really wants her to develop her own self. Outside of being their daughter. Although… I am not sure I believe the entire story about the genesis of his nickname…. I think he DID leave out a few details.
2. He is great in a crisis. I wonder if this is an innate thing, or learned from his years as a fire-fighter. Maybe a bit of both, but I would have to say that I think he probably always had a cool head in a crisis.
3. he stirs the pot, every chance he can… he wants to see the drama unfold…. its hysterical. Unless you are the target, lol… then… even if you know that it’s all being manipulated, you still get caught up in it. ….. But its always entertaining.
4. He takes pictures… which is, I suppose good and bad. I left my camera at home all week… just in case I was tempted to catch some of the less-than-stellar moments in pixels. But it is nice to have someone memorializing the good times.
5. He is generally a good guy. He still outwardly adores his wife (of more than 30 years), and you can rely on him to be a stand-up kind of guy.
So there. I wrote 5 nice things about him. He can’t say I don’t anymore!
More later today or tomorrow.
Happy fourth of July!
xoxoxoxoxo
